At MAISHI MANUFACTURE, we tame both with one tool—our low-elongation, high-tensile-strength polyester screen mesh. Specialized for Cotton T-Shirt Pigment Printing. Heat-set at 30 N/cm² (43 psi) and surface-treated with a micro alkaline finish, this mesh gives pigment particles a firm, friendly place to land. The result? Colors lock in on the first flash and still pop after 50 hot washes.
Why polyester wins the daily fight
• Moisture: Nylon drinks up to 5 % water, losing 10–20 % strength and stretching 26–40 % before it snaps. Polyester sips only 0.8 % water, keeps its strength, and stretches 19–23 %—perfect for tight registration.
• Chemistry: Polyester shrugs off common pigment solvents, stays stable to 200 °C (392°F), and resists acids and alkalis that chew up other fibers.
• Surface: Our calendered monofilament is round, smooth, and even, so the squeegee glides without snagging and ink releases cleanly.
Where nylon still plays
Rough or curved objects—think footballs or safety helmets—sometimes need nylon’s extra stretch. For flat cotton fabric, polyester is king.
